Ciao ,
questa terza letterina spera di raggiungerti in un soffice prato, il cui manto fresco inizia a far intravedere quei colori che tendiamo a dimenticare nei torpori invernali. Qualche turbolenza ci ha colti all’improvviso la scorsa settimana: è tornato a nevicare… e non poco.
Questo ci ha causato qualche ritardo organizzativo - abbiamo dovuto dare priorità all’approvvigionamento della legna e affrontare gli ultimi strascichi di un inverno piuttosto lungo. Anche le repentine interruzioni della linea (e quindi del nostro server*) hanno caratterizzato i giorni scorsi: speriamo possiate scusarci per questo leggero ritardo.
(*Non tutti sanno che questo server è una casa dentro la casa, in cui ospitiamo l’infrastruttura digitale e l’archivio di Habitat. Essendo suscettibile alle condizioni meteorologiche, non possiamo garantire una connessione permanente. Forse dovremmo abituarci a perderla ogni tanto, senza lasciare che quel momento si trasformi in un vuoto gocciolante, ma piuttosto in un lieve riparo. Embrace the limits!)
Mentre la caldaia continua a bruciare instancabile, la legna lascia spazio a un vuoto ancora umido sotto le tettoie. Tuttavia, questo spazio non dispiace alle nostre amiche pennute: le cocche hanno trovato un nuovo punto preferito sotto la legnaia. In questo weekend pasquale, estremamente caldo e soleggiato, possiamo dire che polleggiavano nel chill più totale.
Abbiamo preannunciato un grande momento: la festa dei 5 anni di Habitat, che si terrà dal 17 al 19 luglio tra Tredozio e Cà de Monti. Un traguardo importante, che coincide con la definizione del nostro futuro prossimo. Tra qualche giorno sveleremo più dettagli e attiveremo il link per partecipare.
Faremo uscire anche la nuova call per le residenze dell’anno. Abbiamo un grande desiderio di fare e veder fare: vorremmo che i nostri laboratori e spazi - non solo quelli del quotidiano - vengano abitati con cura e con altrettanto desiderio.
Intanto, il nuovo-vecchio pianoforte è stato accordato, e le prime residenti di questa stagione - Giulia e Francesca - giunte per vie amiche e traverse, passano buona parte della giornata nel nuovo studio musicale. Senza anticiparvi troppo, possiamo già dirvi che ci saranno anche loro per la festa di Habitat.

I hope this third little letter finds you on a soft meadow, where the fresh green grass is beginning to reveal those colors we tend to forget during the winter slumber. We were caught off guard by a bit of a storm last week: it started snowing again… and quite heavily.
This has caused us a few organizational delays - we had to prioritize stocking up on firewood and deal with the lingering effects of a rather long winter. Sudden outages on the line (and thus on our server*) have also been a feature of the past few days: we hope you’ll excuse this slight delay.
(*Not everyone knows that this server is a house within a house, where we host Habitat’s digital infrastructure and archive. Since it’s susceptible to weather conditions, we can’t guarantee a permanent connection. Perhaps we should get used to losing it every now and then, without letting that moment turn into a dripping void, but rather into a gentle shelter. Embrace the limits!)
Whilst the heating machine continues to burn tirelessly, the wood has left a space that’s still damp beneath the canopies. However, our feathered friends don’t mind this space at all: the chickens have found a new favourite spot beneath the woodshed. Over this extremely warm and sunny Easter weekend, we can safely say they were chilling out in total bliss.
We have announced a major event: Habitat’s 5th anniversary celebration, which will take place from 17 to 19 July in Tredozio and Cà de Monti. This is a significant milestone, coinciding with the shaping of our immediate future. In a few days’ time, we will reveal further details and activate the link to register.
We will also be launching the new call for this year’s residencies. We have a great desire to create and to see others create: we would like our workshops and spaces – not just those of everyday life – to be inhabited with care and with the same enthusiasm.
In the meantime, the new-old piano has been tuned, and this season’s first residents – Giulia and Francesca – who arrived via informal routes, spend much of their day in the new music studio. Without giving too much away, we can already tell you that they’ll be joining us for the 5th years party.
